Colorado NPI Repository Registration Instructions

To activate your access to NPI numbers in the repository there are four initial steps you must take:

1. Sign-up for an account on the log-in page.
2. Create your practice profile.
3. Search and select one or more of your physicians.
4. Register one or more physicians to your practice.

Why does it work this way? By registering even a single doctor, we are assured that the user is associated with a medical society member and the number given is associated with a licensed physician. If you have followed the steps outlined and cannot see NPI numbers it may mean that there is an issue with the membership data for your physician(s). If this occurs please contact MCAG support services at the number below.

1. On the log-in page, http://npi.medconvene.com, click the "sign-up" button at the bottom.
2. Complete all fields on the sign-up page; Username and Password may be any combination if they have not previously been chosen; information is not case sensitive; remember your information, it is needed to log on each time you enter the site.
3. Click the "Sign Up" button at the bottom.
4. When your registration is confirmed; click "login".
5. Enter your user name and password and click the Login button to proceed.
6. You may now create your practice profile: click on the word "here" to proceed. Your practice profile creates an administrative record which allows you, and only you, to edit the information entered.
7. Complete the requested information about your practice; when finished click the submit button. If you have not completed all required fields you will be instructed to do so.
8. You will be notified that your information has successfully been updated; click the "back" button to proceed.
9. Associate your physicians with your practice profile: click the "begin search" link in the "Your Providers" box
10. To search enter a few characters in any one of the fields provided and click the "Search" button.
11. Select the physician for which you wish to enter an NPI number and click on that name; the selected physician’s record will be returned
12. In the last box on this page click the "Register" button
13. You will be asked to enter the "authentication number". This is the last five digits of the physician’s license number; enter the number and click the "Register" button. This will associate that physician with your practice profile.
14. In the box to the right, click Provider NPI.
15. In the box provided, enter the physician’s NPI number.
16. Click "Update".
17. You will be notified that the information has successfully been updated.
18. Click the "Back" button
19. You will be returned to your provider profile page.
20. To add additional physicians, click Search at the top of the page and repeat steps 10 through 16.
21. To find NPI numbers, login and click the Search link at the top of the page.
22. When finished, click the logout button at the top of the page
